Kolejna wersja multiplatformowego narzędzia do zarządzania, konwersji, tworzenia (oraz wszystkiego, czego można sobie wymarzyć) taśm przynosi bardzo ciekawą nowość. A mianowicie, czy przypominacie sobie może Polskie Logo, Yoompa, czy grę Great Green Adventure? Wszystkie te programy podczas wczytywania z magnetofonu miały nagraną ścieżkę audio, która uprzyjemniała czas oczekiwania na wgranie. No to teraz za pomocą Turgena da się taką taśmę stworzyć. Lista zmian:

• Added initial implementation of the "Create dual track" tape function. This function allows to create a dual track tape from a playlist item and an audio file.
• Automatic setting of waveform has been improved. Now the waveform is automatically determined individually for each playlist item converted.
• A ClassCastException can occur when creating new playlist items for the Standard and RTT plugins.

Kolejna, główna wersja multiplatformowego narzędzia do zarządzania, konwersji, tworzenia (oraz wszystkiego, czego można sobie wymarzyć) taśm przynosi długą listę zmian i udoskonaleń:

• The playlist and playlist item code has been completely redesigned.
• Playlists from older versions cannot be loaded.
• Directory with configuration is now ~/.turgen-9.0.0. All preferences and window layout are reset.
• When multiple files are converted, you can specify what subset of methods that can be used for the conversion
• Worklist: A new popup menu allows you to open the output file or show it in folder
• Playlist: You can move up and down multiple playlist items
• Preferences: Change of the Look and Feel (LaF) is easier
• Look and Feel: FlatLaf is the default Look and Feel. All scrollbars show arrows.
• GENCAS: Running GENCAS without parameters shows basic usage instructions
• A sample .xex file is included in the installation
• Audio Output: The buffer size is no longer configurable and is determined automatically instead
• Some useless statistics for binary load files removed from the file statistics dialog
• Wiki pages were found not to be useful and were removed.
• Closing the program window did not terminate output of the signal
• ClassCastException thrown when creating Standard plugin playlist items

• Introduced New LBE binary loader "LBE PMG". This loader shows loading progress using PMG missiles in non-DMA mode.
• The original LBE binary loader is now named "LBE Plain"
• The LBE conversion accepts hexadecimal representation of the file name
• The Worklist items now show output file names
• The Standard plugin was not able to read and convert playlist items of older versions
• Double clicking a Worklist item opened incorrect output files

• Worklist replaces the progress monitoring panel
• Worklist displays work items. Each work item represents work in progress or work complete.
• Worklist displays work items in normal mode and newly in the preview mode
• Worklist displays meaningful progress information for tape images
• Work items are controlled easily with three buttons located on a dedicated toolbar
• Completed work items can be double-clicked to open the associated output file
• The Monolithic binary convertor automatically rejects files greater than 32 KB
• The Monolithic binary convertor automatically rejects files with load address below 1536
• The java.util.logging package is used instead of writing to System.out or System.err

VinsCool udostępnił binaria kolejnej nieoficjalnej wersji Raster Music Trackera z mnóstwem poprawek własnego autorstwa oraz szeroką listą nowości. Poza tym udostępniono demo, które wskazuje, że jest możliwe granie 16x na ramkę - i to na NTSC!

• Added a new tracker.obx function, where the driver version is written in plaintext, and then displayed in the About dialog. This is purely cosmetic, otherwise, there is no difference.
• Make the XEX export format have the colour shuffling optional.
• Also make sure the SAP exports skip the colour shuffling instructions, since both export formats use the same player binaries.
• Added an option for XEX exports to enable or disable the automatic region detection, in case a particular setup may work incorrectly with it.
• Fixed a bug related to scaling, causing the output to have choppy appearance due to incorrectly having set the boundaries of the display to draw every frame. Now it's a smooth display!
• Improved the PAL/NTSC detection code in the exports player (thanks pps for the sample code I used as a reference!).
• Updated all binaries with the last 6502 ASM changes, the old export binaries will no longer be compatible due to several memory address changes!

VinsCool udostępnił binaria kolejnej nieoficjalnej wersji Raster Music Trackera z mnóstwem poprawek własnego autorstwa oraz szeroką listą nowości.

• Updated the driver binaries to a newer and better WIP version, including export binaries. Work in progress ASM code is also included. Beware, it is messy...
• Bump the version number to 1.32 since the driver update is a major change, and numerous fixes will be done since the last 1.31 revision
• Clearly show the exact version number, since RMT may be updated pretty often, without really being warrant of a major release... Like this one for example :P
• Added 16-bit pitch accuracy frequencies display for Distortion 2, A, C and E (C table 2)
• Added Sawtooth pitch frequencies display, as well as if the waveform is inverted by swapping the CH1 and CH3 values
• Fixed a bug when playing a song with follow cursor enabled would always switch back to "play from current position" mode even if the mode was set to "track loop"
• Fixed a memory leak caused by the 16-bit frequencies calculations, which lead to a chance out of 2 to cause a crash when RMT is being executed
• Changed the empty tracks appearance from a single dash per row to a dotted pattern identical to tracks with data into them (thanks zaxolotl for the suggestion!)
• Tweaked the "Go to line: XX" appearance by moving it a few tiles to the left, in order to mask the line number. This may help reduce the number accidental recursive GOTOs when they are edited
• Also changed the GOTO colours so only the number colour will be changed when highlighted. The number will be white by default
• Added a line separating the Left/Right tracks in the SONG block, making it easier to identify which channels belong to which side
• Small improvement to make the "Go to line" on tracks more appealing visually: highlight the number when the cursor is actually active in tracks, and keep the "Go to line" text more visible as well.
• Set the cursor position on the Volume envelope by default for instruments, to avoid accidentally overwriting the name when cycling through instruments (thanks PG for the suggestion!)
• Properly fixed the Follow Cursor Play bug by also making sure the parameter was defined in the Subsong change as well
• Fixed a bug where using the PAGEUP/PAGEDOWN keys in tracks at the same time as play+follow mode is active would cause graphical glitches since the line would try to move at the same time of following the cursor
• Re-introduced the Distortion 6 BASS16 code in RMT, with updated description. You can also set the Distortion used for it with CMD6. $0Y = Distortion
• Small update on Distortions and Commands description, Added infos for new BASS16 CMD6 code, as well as Distortion A Sawtooth mode using AUTOFILTER + CH1+3 1.79mhz mode.

Całkiem niedawno ukazała się stabilna wersja wiodącego emulatora ośmiobitowych komputerów Atari - Altirra, a od tego czasu Phaeron opublikował cztery kolejne wydania testowe. Czego możemy się spodziewać i co możemy przetestować przed kolejną "pełną" wersją?

• Added emulation of buffered track reads for Happy 1050 and Speedy 1050 devices in standard emulation mode.
• Fixed FLAC decoder crash with some block sizes
• C: patch can now load blocks longer than 30 seconds.
• Tape editor: fixed draw tool with waveform displayed, SIO capture option now shows enabled state, accelerated C: loads show sync bytes, and block checksum status displays more reliably during live captures.
• The tape editor now also has a feature where it will attempt to identify the position of a bit error in an SIO data capture, by highlighting it in purple
